Arts Lesson

Summarize the specific art skills to be developed, the specific art knowledge to learn, and the attitudes to be fostered. These are the goals and objectives of the lesson (or unit). Good teachers often write the final exam first. Some call it backward planning. As we write this, we begin to imagine ideas about how these things can be learned. Even when no actual exam is planned, we do the same thing. We identify what we want to happen to the student as a result of the lesson, the unit, or the year.

Language Lesson

Language learning strategies is a term referring to the processes and actions that are consciously deployed by language learners to help them to learn or use a language more effectively.They have also been defined as ‘thoughts and actions, consciously chosen and operationalized by language learners, to assist them in carrying out a multiplicity of tasks from the very outset of learning to the most advanced levels of target language performance’.

Music Lesson

Every music class is different and the constant planning can be overwhelming. Many teachers complain that they feel like they spend as much time planning as they do actually teaching! But this planning pays off and can make your teaching far more effective. Having a good strategy for planning – planning your planning, if you like – means that your time isn’t wasted. Treat your planning time as time for your own inspiration to come through.
